Greensboro, NC – Wyndham Championship officials and fans are crediting some the success of the tournament on great weather.

"This is definitely without a question and it is really not even close, this our best year," said Mark Brazil, "The Wyndham Tournament Director. A ton to do with the weather," said Brazil.

Brazil believes that the dryer and warmer conditions really helped drive golf fans to Sedgefield and triumph of tournament. During the 2013 tournament it was about 60 degrees and it rained about 3 inches in one day.

"I think we sold more than almost double than last year," said Brazil. "We did have a lot of rain in the forecast last year. So, I'm not sure last year is a good indicator," said the Wyndham tournament director.

Wyndham officials are hoping for great weather again next year and for the field of players to continue to improve. They believe that will help make the 2015 Wyndham Championship a success.

As for the winner of the 2014 Wyndham Championship, the new champion was crowned at the Wyndham Championship Sunday on WFMY News 2.
