Carolina Hurricanes, Fanatic Sportsbook to hold sports betting launch party

This is event is to celebrate the launch of legal sports betting in North Carolina on Monday, March 11.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Sports betting will officially be legal in North Carolina soon! 

Don Waddell, President and General Manager of the Carolina Hurricanes, announced that the Hurricanes and Fanatics Betting and Gaming, the team's Official Sports Betting Partner, are celebrating the launch of legal sports betting in North Carolina. 

The event will be held at Backyard Bistro on Monday, March 11. 

"March 11 is a massive day for sports fans and the sports industry in North Carolina," Waddell said. "The Hurricanes and Fanatics look forward to throwing this party to celebrate with our fans as we move forward into this exciting new chapter." 

Online sports betting in North Carolina will become legal as of noon on Monday. The launch party will begin at 5 p.m. and is hosted by Hurricanes TV analyst Shane Willis and public address announcer Wade Minter.  

There will be plenty of games and a raffle for people to join in. 

Fans can use this link to pre-register for a Fanatics Sportsbook account and will receive $100 in Bonus Bets. Fans who deposit $50 or more will receive a free Hurricanes hat. 

The Fanatics Sportsbook launched in August 2023 and currently available in 15 states.
