GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's time for 'My 2 Cents.'
I am impatient and have the bad habit of trying to speed everything up. I can remind myself time and time again that good things take time and to trust life's timing - but I will still try to speed things along.
I get antsy when food is cooking and have to snack on the ingredients or take the food out too early ruining it. I can't stand it when I get stuck behind a slow driver. When my internet is slow, I want to pull my hair out. Waiting on a response from someone feels like an eternity. Travel is agonizing until I reach the destination.
When it comes to the timing of life in general - I struggle accepting it.
I think there are a few reasons for that, as humans we like to feel in control of important things, our lives included.
We want to feel like we have a say in the matter.
And almost everything is instant now a days - making waiting difficult.
But here's what we need to remember: A watched pot never boils and uncooked food doesn't taste good. We all get to where we are supposed to be, no matter how fast we get there. You can't speed up the internet. You can't speed up other people. Many times, the journey is just as good as the final destination.
I know it can seem impossible, but trust the timing of life.
