GREENSBORO, N.C. — “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it.”
This is a popular quote I’m sure you’ve seen making the rounds on social media, but the words ring true. It’s so easy to blame others when things go wrong.

Why would they say that to me? Why would they do this to me? Just some of the questions that may start going off in our heads when we feel we’ve been wronged in a situation. It’s much easier to go on the defense than take responsibility for our own actions. I know from experience.
Last week, someone said something to me that I didn’t like. Instead of letting it go or making light of the situation, I thought about it ALL day long.
The comment began to eat away at me and essentially put me in a bad mood. When venting to someone close to me, they made me realize it’s not so much about what happens to us, but about how we respond to the situation.
While I’m over here obsessing about a comment, the person who made it is probably living their best life—happy and stress-free.
We are responsible for how we handle our emotions. Don’t give others the power to dictate how you feel.
That’s My 2 Cents.
