My 2 Cents: Aging with style and grace

WFMY's Lauren Coleman says it's ok to not have everything sorted out when you turn 30.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Recently I celebrated a milestone Birthday.

The big 3-0.

Some may say a lady never shares her age, but I have so much to be thankful for in this new decade of life.

I have a family that supports me, I have my health, and I'm learning more about myself every day.

Though I've been blessed with so much in these 30 years of life, I can't help but wonder if I've made the most of them.

Isn't 30 the year when you should have your whole life figured out?

As I scroll through my Instagram timeline, I see people posting about homeownership, promotions, and engagements.

I'm constantly asked questions like:

When are you going to settle down and have a family? Where do you see yourself in five years? What's your life purpose?

The reality is, that I don't have all the answers to those questions.

Don't get me wrong, I've always been a go-getter and someone who sets a high bar for myself, but with maturity, I'm starting to get to a place where I can feel ok with not knowing how things will play out.

There's a popular saying,  "If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans".

In this new year of life, I'm focused on pouring into myself, aspiring to be the best version of myself so, I can fully appreciate all the blessings God has in store for me.

As you begin a new year of life, I encourage you to do the same.

That's My 2 Cents.
