It's not too late to make a resolution - My 2 Cents

It may be the 27th day of the year but that doesn't mean you missed your chance to set a goal or make a resolution for 2021.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It’s time for ‘My 2 Cents.’

It is the 27th day of 2021. We are almost a month in to the new year and many of you are holding strong with your resolutions and goals. But maybe you’re someone who didn’t make a resolution. I’m here to tell you it’s not too late and, you may even be at an advantage.

There’s a lot of pressure at the start of the year to get off on the right foot and stick to it – so much so that many people don’t even attempt resolutions. But on Day 27, there’s less pressure and more opportunity.

It’s not too late. You still have 338 days to make a change, reach a goal or achieve personal growth. Don’t wait until next year to start bettering yourself when there’s plenty of time now.

Starting on January 27th not only takes away some of that unnecessary pressure, it also gives you a better idea of what you want to accomplish. Think about it, you’ve had 27 days to settle into the year and get a feel for how it’s going and how you want it to go.

Plus, so many people set unrealistic goals at the start of the year hoping the magic of New Years Day will propel them through the next 12 months. Fact is, 80% of people give up on their resolutions by the second week of February. While there’s no data on people who start new goals on January 27th, it’s my professional opinion that they stick to them longer because they are more likely to be achievable, smart goals.

So make a change, set a goal and tackle a resolution this year. Even if January is almost over. It’s not to late.
