GREENSBORO, N.C. — It’s time for ‘My 2 Cents.’
It is the last Friday of February. I know, hard to believe we are STILL IN FEBRUARY! This has felt like the longest month ever. Especially since it’s quite literally the shortest month of the year.
Let’s recap just a few events that happened this month. In the world of COVID-19, vaccines kept going out across the country and overall the numbers are looking better. A much needed bright spot of January became the deadliest month thus far. But then variants became a problem… different strains of coronavirus that can be more contagious.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl and Tom Brady secured his seventh ring.
We lived through another impeachment trial that ended in another acquittal. And we are only 13 days into the month.
February 14th – Happy Valentine’s Day!
We’ve had some wild weather. Here in the Triad, it’s been soggy 12 days and who can forget the ice storms. A winter storm in Texas crippled the state – dozens of people sadly, lost their lives because of the severe weather.
Tiger Woods got in a serious car crash and is recovering from injuries.
And Friday we learned the federal government is opening a mass vaccination clinic in Greensboro – that will be able to inoculate 21 thousand people a week.
A lot has happened.
I was talking to Chad this week and I said, 'Gosh! I wish this month would end, I’m ready for March.' To which he responded, 'Don’t wish your life away.' I don’t. But there are certainly times I wish it would speed up.
