RALEIGH, N.C. — In the early hours of the morning, steak lovers everywhere gasped in horror.
A tractor-trailer full of steak sauce and teriyaki marinade overturned on the eastbound ramp to Interstate 440 from Wade Avenue in Raleigh at around 5 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, according to CBS affiliate WNCN.
As the vessel of deliciousness hit the ground, thousands of gallons of sauce spilled onto the road, according to law enforcement.
Luckily, the driver was able to get out of the truck with no major injuries, law enforcement said.
The tasty goop-covered road was closed for several hours while crews worked to clean the scene and remove the tractor-trailer.
The road re-opened at noon on Wednesday.
