DANVILLE, Va. — Virginia lawmakers have made up their minds about new casino legislation.
The bill legalizes casino gaming in the state specifically 3 cities including Danville, VA.
Now it heads to governor Ralph Northam's desk for approval.
However, it could still be a while before any casinos are built.
The bill requires a months-long study of casino impacts and voters in the city would have to approve a new casino.
The state lottery board will draw up rules and licenses would be available next summer.
