Triad Student Overcomes Rare Disease To Graduate

Khye Jessup was diagnosed with Hunter's Disease and wasn't expected to live past his teenage years. But he's done that, and is graduating today!

GREENSBORO, NC -- A determined High School senior with a rare disease beat the odds -- and will soon is now a Ragsdale High School graduate.

Khye Jessup has Hunter's Syndrome, a genetic disorder that results in the build up of harmful molecules in the body.

He lost his ability to talk, walk, and eat...but he didn't give up on his drive to finish high school.

Today his dream comes true, as he crosses the stage to get his diploma from Ragsdale High School.

WFMY News 2 was with Khye's family before the ceremony and we'll be with the family after to celebrate Khye's special day.
