KERNERSVILLE, NC - If you would have told Angela Rothrock one day she would sit among some of the musical elite at the Grammys, more than likely she would have laughed and walked away. But, turns out, the stars aligned to put Angela among the stars at the 58th Grammy Awards.
Angela Rothrock won the tickets to the Grammys, through WFMY News 2's "Soundtrack Of Your Life" contest on Facebook. She saw every moment unfold live in the audience.
She headed to California with her son and daughter for the award show.
"It's ridiculous," she said. "There's nothing like it."
Rothrock sat in the audience… the same audience as musicians she listens to all the time.
"I was glued to my seat for four hours straight. I didn't move. I got to see Taylor Swift walking around and Lady Gaga."
As a music lover, Rothrock said the lights, sound, and action of the live award show was unrivaled by any concert she's ever seen
"The sound in the Staples Center is phenomenal."
Her favorite performance changed, from T-Swift to Adele and finally Lady Gaga.
"It just kept getting better and better. There was fire in one guy's performance (Kendrick Lamar) and confetti. It was amazing."
But, perhaps her favorite part was the commercials or rather the time in-between when the rest of the world watched commercials
"We're watching everybody tear down and set up for the next act, and the artists sitting in the front waiting for their awards would have to get up and move to the back or somewhere else and they would move more people up there, so it was like musical chairs," said Rothrock.
She didn't get to meet any of her favorite celebrities but she did run into Sam Hunt, or rather his luggage as his band packed up instruments before the show.
Is there anything she would like to do differently, if, say she would ever find herself back at the Grammys?
"No. It was perfect."
