GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Taste all the cakes you can stomach without the guilt of caving to those cravings.
The "Taste on Westgate" cake tasting event benefits three charities at the anticipated annual event Friday night.
Event organizer Audretta Hall said she got the idea after looking for a way to give back. She said she combined her own sweet tooth and her friendships with local chefs and came up with the "cakes for charities" idea.
Five local chefs will bring dozens of cakes, as well as healthy protein bars for calorie-conscious attendees.
Hall said 100 percent of the proceeds from the event will go toward three charities:
- Beautiful Butterflies - Lupus awareness
- Made 2 Rise Eagles - employment services
- Esteem Fitness - childhood obesity
