WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Wake Forest police arrested a mother and father after their 4-week-old son was found with broken bones, Raleigh CBS affiliate, WNCN reports.

Arrest records show Ashley Martin, 21, and Da'Shane Ellison, 27, are charged with felony intentional child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

Warrants show their infant son was found with a broken humerus bone, broken ribs, broken toes, fractured tibia, and fluid in the brain.

WNCN said a spokesperson with the Town of Wake Forest said police were notified that the child was being treated for serious injuries at a local hospital. An investigation revealed the injuries were sustained at an address along the 200 block of North Allen Road in Wake Forest.

Martin and Ellison were each given a $500,000 bond. They are scheduled to appear in court Friday.
