NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Earlier this week North Carolina lawmakers signed off on a bill that will allow cocktails to be available for delivery and to-go. Restaurants used to do this during the pandemic, but this bill would make it permanent.
Alcohol sales are regulated in North Carolina because the state is liquor controlled. Many of these laws stem from the prohibition era.
The bill passed both chambers in the state legislature. It has since been sent to state governor Roy Cooper.
