'Tragic incident' kills contractor at North Carolina manufacturing plant

The incident remains under investigation, officials said.

DAVIDSON, N.C. — One person was killed in an industrial accident at a Davidson manufacturing plant on Friday, Medic confirmed. 

Emergency crews responded to an incident at Trane Technologies around 11 a.m. According to Medic, the victim as pronounced dead at the scene. Details of the accident haven't been released.

Trane Technologies issued the following statement: 

"We are actively responding to a tragic incident involving a contractor working onsite at our Davidson, North Carolina, location. We are working with the pertinent authorities, and thank all first responders involved."

 No word on how the person was killed at this time.
