Woman dies after being hit by USPS vehicle, police say

Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso tells 12News the woman died after being transported to the hospital.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A 52-year-old Port Arthur woman died Monday night after she was struck by a United States Postal Service vehicle in Port Arthur.

Laura Vanessa Martinez-Segura, 52, of Port Arthur, died Monday night according to Jefferson County Precinct Seven Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett.

She was struck by the Postal Service vehicle in the 4400 block of Procter St. around 6 p.m. Monday. 

Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso tells 12News she died after being taken to the hospital. 

Judge Burnett has ordered an autopsy. 

Her name was withheld until family her family was notified.
