Trump speaks to voters at Charlotte campaign rally

Trump quickly shifted the attention of his campaign toward targeting Vice President Kamala Harris.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump spoke in Charlotte Wednesday for the first time since President Biden announced that he was dropping out of the race.

Political experts expected Trump to attack Vice President Kamala Harris' record on immigration and inflation.

This is only the second time Trump has spoken since the assassination attempt on his life. The first time was last Thursday at the Republican National Convention (RNC).

During the RNC, many pundits said Trump had a different tone than previous rallies. He spoke a lot about unity and coming together as a country during tough times.

The last time Trump visited North Carolina was in May when he attended the Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
