Michele Morrow says she's been nominated for education role in Trump administration

Morrow narrowly lost the election for North Carolina state superintendent to Democrat Mo Green.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One week after a failed run for North Carolina superintendent, Republican Michele Morrow is angling for a job in President-elect Donald Trump's administration.

Morrow posted on social media saying she'd been nominated on a Trump transition team website, asking her supporters to cast a vote for her. The post claims that Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are considering her nomination and are asking for the public to vote on nominees.  However, Trump hasn't said whether he's considering any of the people who have been added to the list.

Morrow, a registered nurse and former missionary, homeschooled her five kids for nearly 20 years, teaching biology, chemistry, Spanish and civics over the course of her career.

In an interview with WCNC Charlotte's Flashpoint, Morrow defended social media posts she made suggesting the assassination of prominent Democrats, including Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Morrow said it was "shameful" that it was a focus leading up to the election, which she called the "American Revolution 2.0."
