ASHEBORO, N.C. — With just less than 11 weeks remaining before Election Day, former President Donald Trump will rally voters in Asheboro on Wednesday along with his running mate, J.D. Vance.

The two will speak at the North Carolina Aviation Museum Hall of Fame, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and Trump scheduled to speak at 2 p.m.

Those interested in watching Trump's remarks can watch the event live from this story, on the WFMY News 2 homepage, our YouTube channel and on our streaming service WFMY+.

This is Trump's first campaign event outdoors since the attempt on his life at a rally in Butler, Pa. on July 16. As part of this event's security plan, the former president will be surrounded by bulletproof glass on all sides while he delivers his remarks.

According to a press release, Trump and Vance plan to speak on national security at the event in Asheboro.

The stop in Asheboro is Trump's second appearance in the Tar Heel State in a week. On Aug. 14, he spoke in Asheville on several topics including energy prices and border security.

Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign are currently in Chicago at the Democratic National Convention, where she is expected to receive the party's nomination for president.
