RALEIGH, N.C. — Former President Donald Trump's running mate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) will no longer be making two stops in North Carolina on Thursday. The campaign announced both events were postponed due to weather.
Vance was scheduled to stop in Oakboro, NC at the Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Co. in Stanly County.
Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minnesota), also postponed a visit planned for Thursday in Raleigh. Neither campaign has said when the events may be rescheduled.
Thursday's visit would have been Vance's first time in North Carolina since joining Trump's campaign. The former president won North Carolina in 2016 and 2020, though his margin in 2020 shrunk to less than 1.5%, the tightest of any state that Trump won during his reelection campaign.
Harris has made several stops in North Carolina already this year, but she has never stopped by since rising to the top of the ticket.
