NORTH CAROLINA, USA — The Lieutenant Governor's race was decisive for Democrats with State Senator Rachel Hunt of Mecklenburg County clinching a 70% victory, defeating veterans Ben Clark and Mark H. Robinson.
On the Republican side, results are much closer.
Hal Weatherman led the race at 19% compared to Forsyth County District Attorney Jim O'Neill's 15% and former State Senator Deanna Ballard's 14%.
This race could go to a second primary because none of the candidates met the 30% threshold to be declared the projected winner.
That second primary would be on May 14 and feature only the top 2 candidates.
