Republican Michelle Morrow beats out incumbent Catherine Truitt for NC Superintendent

Michelle Morrow has never held office and homeschools her kids

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — UPDATE: Michelle Morrow beats incumbent Catherine Truitt.

North Carolina is on track to get a new State Superintendent if the trend holds.

The race hasn't been called yet due to a small percentage of votes still not counted.

Incumbent Catherine Truitt is votes behind her republican challenger Michelle Morrow.

Morrow has 5 kids who have never attended a North Carolina public school because she says they need to be reformed to have more discipline and a better curriculum.

On the Democratic side, former Guilford County Superintendent Mo Green had a big win carrying every county in the state.

He also had a really strong performance in Mecklenburg County where he used to be the Deputy Superintendent.
