NORTH CAROLINA, USA — The candidates running in North Carolina's 9th Congressional District are Incumbent Republican Richard Hudson, Democrat Nigel Bristow, and Independent Shelane Etchison.
Richard Hudson
Hudson has represented North Carolina in the U.S. House since 2012. His platform focuses on defending Second Amendment rights, reducing government spending, and maintaining restrictions on partial-birth abortion. He also serves on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.
Nigel Bristow
Bristow, a former NYPD officer and corrections officer in North Carolina, advocates for codifying Roe v. Wade, increasing the federal minimum wage, promoting affordable housing, and enhancing benefits for military families.
Shelane Etchison
Supported by the North Carolina Forward Party, Etchison's platform emphasizes anti-corruption, protecting individual liberties, and increasing support for veterans. She has a background in military service and is a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Business School.
