ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz is making another appearance in North Carolina as the election nears.
The governor of Minnesota will be in Asheville on Tuesday, Sept. 17 for a Harris-Walz campaign rally. Further details about the rally have not yet been made public.
Vice President Kamala Harris held rallies in Charlotte and Greensboro on Thursday, Sept. 12. One week prior, former President Donald Trump visited Charlotte for a private event.
The post-debate blitz from both Harris and Trump reflected the narrow path to 270 Electoral College votes for both candidates, with the campaign concentrated on seven swing states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Trump won North Carolina twice, but his margin of 1.3 percentage points in 2020 was his closest statewide victory.
North Carolina, which used to lean Republican is now more purple. Even still, Democrats running for president have only won North Carolina once since 1980, when Barack Obama carried the state in 2008.
Political science professor Scott Huffmon said everyone should get used to it.
"North Carolina is absolutely going to be a critical state for the 2024 presidential election," he said.
