NORTH CAROLINA, USA — Republican candidate Addison McDowell is projected to win the race for the U.S. House of Representatives seat for District 6.

“I am honored the voters of the 6th District have selected me to serve as their next Congressman,” McDowell said in a statement. “This district is my home and it’s been so great to see old friends and family on the campaign trail; all the good folks who have invested in me over the years. Now I’m raising my children in this district. I’m going to Congress to fight for them and to fight for you!"

“I owe a big thank you to President Donald J. Trump,” McDowell said. “He believed in me because he knows securing our southern border is very important to me. We lost my little brother Luke to fentanyl likely smuggled across the Southern border and I want to shut down that pipeline so other families don’t suffer a similar tragedy. My race was over pretty quick tonight and I know they are still counting votes in other states, but I feel great about President Trump’s chances for victory and it will be my privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder with him in Washington, DC fighting for the America First Agenda!”

He was born and raised in Davidson County and previously worked under United States Senator Ted Budd as a constituent liaison.

McDowell ran against Kevin Hayes.

He was endorsed by former President Donald Trump, who is running as the Republication candidate for President of the United States in the 2024 election.
