Atlanta, GA -- New information in the Silver Comet Trail murder has been released, including court documents showing that the suspect had blood in his home and car.The documents also indicated that Jennifer Ewing put up quite a fight when she was attacked.Michael Ledford’s attorney said his client would plead not guilty. However, the Paulding County Sheriff told 11Alive that once the GBI crime lab completes its analysis of the evidence in the case, Michael Ledford will be linked to the murder of Jennifer Ewing.The documents noted that on July 25, the day Ewing disappeared, a detective went to Michael Ledford’s home less than ten miles away and saw clothes and shoes in the home with bloodstains on them. Detectives also saw Ledford’s car approximately 100 yards away from the crime scene. Later, blood was found in the car.Ewing's body was found on July 26.Detectives said that when they found Ewing’s body at the crime scene, it was partially clothed, with injuries to the face and head. There were also bruises on the hands, legs, and arms. According to detectives, those injuries indicated she strongly fought back against her attacker.A photo was also taken of Ledford, and it showed the injuries he said he received from a prostitute during a fight. Ledford’s injuries included damage to his genital area. Sheriff Bruce Harris said that Ledford’s fingerprints were found at the crime scene, and that when the blood results come back, they should show that Jennifer Ewing’s blood was in Ledford’s car and home.
