GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Eight new artists and performing groups have just been announced to perform at the North Carolina Folk Festival this September 7-9 in downtown Greensboro.
The new performers include alternative-country blues singer Amythyst Kiah, West African Kora performer Sona Jobarteh, Delta Blues artist Jarekus Singleton, NC storyteller Donna Washington, New Orleans Funk performance by Big Sam's Funky Nation, Kindie Music from Greensboro's own Big Bang Boom, Reggae performances by Wesli, and a Latin-American brass band known as La Patronal.
New Artists Coming To NC Folk Festival
The festival's inaugural season follows the success of three straight years of the National Folk Festival - which drew more than 400,000 people to downtown Greensboro.
The performers celebrate the rich diversity of America's roots and heritage, as well as North Carolina and regional traditions.
