BELLEVILLE, IL. -- A cell phone that had been run over and wrapped in a plastic bag caused a car to catch on fire.
It happened Saturday night in a garage along Dublin Boulevard in Belleville.
The owner accidentally ran over the phone then wrapped the phone in plastic. The phone was then placed in the trunk of the car.
Firefighters say the damaged battery shorted and the plastic caught fire.
