Throughout the 2015-16 NBA season, Cleveland’s LeBron James and Golden State’s Draymond Green provided behind-the-scenes access and insight into what was happening on and off the court with a series of UNINTERRUPTED videos, an online platform for athletes to tell their stories.
The video updates from both players continued during the postseason as the Cavaliers and Warriors progressed through the NBA Finals, where both players were central figures in the compelling seven-game series. But one pivotal moment between the two players stands out more than most. Green flung his arm at James and hit him in the groin area in Game 4 and was subsequently suspended for Game 5, the Cavs proceeded to win the next three games and became the first team in NBA history to win a title after falling behind 3-1 in the Finals.
After the series, Green, who was a Finals MVP candidate had the Warriors won, told USA TODAY Sports about his relationship with James.
“In the same place we were before," he said. "It ain’t no hard feelings. I’ve got nothing but love and respect for LeBron. He’s a competitor. I’m a competitor. We had our moment. Who gives a (expletive)?"
