ARCHDALE, N.C. — Karen Lee-Nix sat in her rocking chair watching a movie Friday night when her husband David came home and told her they won $100,000 on a scratch-off.
"I asked her to pause the movie," he recalled. "We just won $100,000."
At first, she didn't believe him until she saw the ticket for herself.
"It brought tears to my eyes," she recalled. "We both had tears of joy."
Nix bought his lucky $10 Million Spectacular ticket from Zingo Express in Archdale.
"I always have a positive attitude and think that somebody is going to win so it might as well be me," he said.
They both arrived at the lottery headquarters Wednesday to collect their prize. They said they plan to use the winnings to do some home improvements, pay some bills, and put the rest in savings.
