GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Kenneth Bennett from High Point took a chance on a $10 scratch-off and won the first $1 million top prize in a new lottery game.
He bought his lucky Jumbo Bucks ticket from the Raceway on South Main Street in High Point. He had a decision to make: an annuity of $50,000 over 20 years or lump sum of $600,000.
He chose the lump sum.
The game debuted in August with eight $1 million top prizes. Seven $1 million prizes remain to be claimed.
