GREENSBORO, N.C. — This Greensboro man won big!
William Coble won $1 million from the Mega Millions lottery on Nov. 17.
Coble bought his $2 Quick Pick ticket from Sumner Food Mart and Hardware on Old Randleman Road. He was lucky enough to match the numbers on all five white balls to win his prize, the odds of which are 1 in 12.6 million.
“I buy tickets every couple of days because I don’t want to miss a drawing,” he said. “This time it paid off.”
What is he doing with the money? He's finally achieving his dream of owning a home.
“I’ve been saving for a while but I can finally do it now,” he said. “I would like to buy one in the Greensboro area.”
After tax withholdings, Coble walked away with $712,501.
