North Carolina man wins $100,000 lottery scratch-off

The winning ticket was sold at a gas station on U.S. 74 in Wingate.

WINGATE, N.C. — A Wingate man is $100,000 richer after winning a scratch-off lottery ticket, the North Carolina Education Lottery announced Tuesday.

Bobby Lynch, of Wingate, spent $30 on a 200X The Cash scratch-off ticket at the XPress Mart gas station convenience store on U.S. 74 East in Wingate, according to the NC Lottery.

Lynch collected his winnings Tuesday. His total winnings came to $71,509 after required state and federal tax withholdings.

The 200X The Cash game first debuted in March 2022, according to the NC Lottery. The game features six top prizes of $5 million and 18 $100,000 prizes. As of Tuesday, one of the $5 million prizes and one of the $100,000 prizes remain unclaimed.
