YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — A Yadkinville teacher has been charged for assaulting a juvenile, according to Yadkinville police.
On May 23, police received a phone call from the administration of Yadkin County Schools regarding an incident involving an assault on a juvenile at Yadkinville Elementary School.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the student was assaulted by a teacher assistant identified as Ivey Shouse Pauca.
Pauca was charged with one misdemeanor count of assault on a child under 12 and one misdemeanor count of child abuse.
Pauca was served with a warrant for arrest on Tuesday and was given a written promise to appear in court on June 26.
This investigation is ongoing.
