ASHEBORO, N.C. — UPDATE: The Randolph County Sheriff's Office said Lashanda Kay Schwarcbher, 44, was arrested by the Criminal Apprehension Team on on Robbin Lane in New London Saturday. She was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center. Bond was denied.
Deputies identified the victim as Billy Glenn Medford, Jr., 45, has died Saturday from his injuries.
Schwarcbher is set to appear in court Monday.
The investigation is ongoing.
A woman is wanted in connection to a hit-and-run in Asheboro Friday, where a victim was flown to a hospital, according to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies said it happened around 4:17 a.m. on Oakland Avenue. Investigators said a woman is accused of hitting a pedestrian and leaving the area. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man lying on the ground and they called EMS.
After an investigation, deputies said charges were sought against 44-year-old Lashanda Kay Schwarcbher, aka Lashanda (Lashonda) Kay Hicks, for felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
Detectives said a magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for her arrest.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
