Woman dead after crash on Sycamore Glen Rd. in Greensboro

Police said the 85-year-old died days after the crash.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police have identified a woman who died after a crash in Greensboro.

Greensboro police said Shirley Shaw, 85, of Greensboro died Thursday from injuries sustained from a single car crash on May 29.

Officers said they responded to a crash on Sycamore Glen Road and Roundup Drive.

Police said they discovered Shaw was driving her 2018 Kia Soul on Roundup Drive and making a left turn onto Sycamore Glen Road, when she ran off the road to the right, and struck a tree. 

She was taken to a hospital for treatment.  She later died.

Police said the Crash Reconstruction Unit is conducting this ongoing investigation.
