Woman dead after crash in Thomasville

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A woman is dead after a crash in Thomasville Wednesday.

Thomasville police said they responded to a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Baptist Childrens Home Road shortly before 11:30 a.m.

Officers said they discovered a 1994 Ford F150, was traveling west on Lexington Avenue, when it failed to maintain lane, crossed the center line, and ran off the road to the left. 

The car hit a parked vehicle and then a utility pole.

Police said the driver of the Ford F150, Elicia Todd, 52, of Thomasville was declared dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Officers said Lexington Avenue from Martin Luther King Drive to Myrtle Drive was closed but opened back up at 3 p.m.
