HIGH POINT, N.C. — A Winston-Salem man was arrested for his role in an armed robbery in High Point Tuesday morning.
Joseph Brown, 32, was arrested near Riverdale Road and Business 85 when he tried to evade police after a vehicle pursuit according to a release. During his arrest, officers found a gun and a stolen cell phone.
Police say two women were outside of Ace Cash Express on South Main Street in High Point, where they were employees. One of the women activated an alarm after Brown was spotted with a gun. Neither woman was injured.
One woman was robbed of her cell phone and wasn't injured. Police responded to an alarm coming from the business around 8:30 a.m.
An officer saw Brown running around the outside of the building, get into a silver sedan parked on a nearby street and drive off.
Brown was arrested and charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Felony Flee to Elude Arrest, Second Degree Kidnapping, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Felony Breaking and Entering.
