House fire in Winston-Salem leaves woman and dog displaced

Fire officials said the fire was caused by a common kitchen appliance.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A fire in Winston-Salem this afternoon left a woman and her dog displaced, according to the Winston-Salem Fire Department.

Officials said the fire department received reports of a fire at 4670 Indiana Avenue at 12:08 p.m.. Firefighters began efforts to put out the fire at 12:47 p.m..

They said the fire was caused by a Keurig coffee maker. No one was injured.

Indiana Avenue was closed as a result of the fire, but is now reopened.
