Wife Of Fallen Fort Bragg Soldier Keeps His Memory Alive While Honoring Gold Star Families

Brittany was just six weeks pregnant when she found out she would never see her husband again.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WFMY) -- There’s not a day that goes by when Brittany Harris doesn’t think about her late husband, U.S. Army Spc. Chris Harris.

When she looks into her daughter’s eyes she sees a part of the both of them.

Brittany was just six weeks pregnant when she found out she would never see her husband again. Harris was killed by a suicide bomber while serving in Afghanistan on August 2, 2017. Brittany said her daughter, Christian will grow up knowing all about her father’s legacy.

In fact, she held a special night to honor his memory and other Gold Star families. The event was held at the Airborne & Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville. It featured guest speakers including Supreme Allied Commander General Buck Kernan and Bobby Heline, a former US Army Staff sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division, 4-tour war veteran, burn survivor and motivational speaker.

This month marked one-year since Harris’ death. She honored him with a personal paver at the entrance of the museum. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg.
