GREENSBORO, N.C. — Every month, Consumer Reports puts out a list of 'What To Buy', but this month is a little different. Sure, there are sales, but the best thing you can do in June is save your money and wait for the big sales.
"Toward the end of the month, look out for early 4th of July sales. Retailers tend to start their July 4th sales at the end of June. That means you can get discounts on large appliances, grills, and other outdoor items," said Samantha Gordon.
For example, the electric pressure washer from Stihl will be as low as $139.99 at Acme Tools, that's about $30 off the original price.
But there are holidays to buy for in June. Father’s Day is June 16th, in the middle of the month. If dad is a DIY guy, the DeWalt Cordless Drill is as low as $149 at Ace Hardware and Lowe’s (about $20 off).
And if Dad isn’t particularly thrilled about doing more work around the house, consider getting him a new smartwatch. The Garmin Venu 2 Plus is as low as $299.99 at Amazon. This is a deal at $149 off the original price.
"Amazon has already announced that Prime Day is happening, which means other retailers will also have sales. So everything will be on sale for much better prices in July than you'll find this month. Consumer Reports says Amazon hasn’t yet announced specific dates for Prime Day," said Gordon.
