GREENSBORO, N.C. -- WFMY News 2 has been honored with nine EMMY nominations - more than all other Triad TV stations combined.

Bob Clinkingbeard, WFMY News 2 News Director, said, "WFMY News 2 at 11PM received two nominations for Best Newscast and no other news station in the entire Midsouth Chapter can make that claim. These nominations are a testament to the unique way we produce news and the viewer-focused product we deliver nightly."

2 Wants to Know at 5:30 PM received its second Emmy nomination in two years and set itself apart from competing newscasts with its pure consumer/investigative approach. 2 Wants to Know revealed extensive problems at Guilford County's Department of Social Services and then followed up with an emergency food drive for victims in need.

"Our mission is to serve the greater good," said WFMY News 2 President & General Manager Larry Audas. "The 2 Wants to Know commitment is about seeking answers and serving people. That's our place in the community. Our team is about community. Recognition of great people and effort at WFMY is humbling."

In addition to exemplary news coverage, WFMY News 2 was recognized for its community outreach project, Read 2 Succeed. This large-scale literacy program is driven by the Good Morning Show team who personally visit tens of thousands of students each year. All the effort furthers one goal – to build a love of reading.
