CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- A group of UNC students sat down during the National Anthem before the game against the University of Pittsburgh on Saturday.
The peaceful demonstration comes five days after the death of Keith Lamont Scott, a black man who was shot by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer.
Scott's death sparked protests in Charlotte beginning Tuesday night. The first two nights saw violence and riots in uptown Charlotte. A protester was shot and killed by another civilian.
Chief Putney announced Saturday that CMPD would release the video of the shooting.
