YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. -- The Highway Patrol is honoring a trooper who was killed in the line of duty in a special way.
Trooper Samuel Bullard who was killed after crashing during a pursuit remains very much in the hearts of those who knew him.
Recently his fiancé, Michelle Mathis made a special visit to the Yadkin County Highway Patrol Office. That’s where she was presented with a special gift and a framed poem in memory of Trooper Bullard.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol posted on their Facebook page in part, “The SHP stands by Michelle and all of Trooper Bullard’s family and friends as they continue the healing process.”
Three people have been charged in connection with Trooper Bullard’s death.
