BETHANIA, N.C. — The annual Town of Bethania Christmas Tree Lighting took place Sunday, Dec. 3 around 5 p.m. at the Alpha Chapel.
Around 100 people came out to listen to a band organized by the Bethania Moravian Church, and take part in some holiday shopping as well.
Christmas carols were sung, Moravian cookies eaten, and fellowship was had.
This event brings the neighbors together every year.
Stan Lake attended the tree lighting with his wife. He said he loves events like this in the town of Bethania.
"Events like these are special because it reminds you that you're part of a community, and it's a chance to see your neighbors and catch up," Lake said.
