BEECH MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- Guests are invited to return to Beech Mountain to lose themselves in the Land of Oz this summer.
The former theme park will be open every Friday in June. Tickets are now on sale. Guests can walk the yellow brick road with Dorothy as their guide, reliving moments from the classic film about a young girl and her unlikely friends finding what they needed was always inside of them all along.
"It's magical. You walk through there, and even us as volunteers, you walk down through there and you can feel the magic." said volunteer Wayne Wineager. "And we hope they walk away with that special feeling that Dorothy had when she walked the yellow brick road, because it brings out the kid inside. That's exactly what it is. It brings out the kid in them."
Tours are limited, and tickets must be purchased on The Land of Oz website. Sports are open every 15 minutes from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 9, 16, 23 and 30.
