KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Three small children and an adult escaped a house fire in Kernersville Thursday morning, according to fire crews.

The house fire happened around 3:30 a.m. on the 2500 block of Bethel Church Road. Crews arrived on the scene and controlled the fire within 30 minutes without injuries.

Fire crews said the real heroes of this incident were the working smoke alarms inside the home. Without those fire alarms, the outcome of the house fire could have been different.

The owner of the home, Mary Hall, provided these photos to WFMY News 2, showing the devastating aftermath of the fire indoors.
