Police investigating swatting situation in Thomasville

Multiple agencies responded to the swatting call near Thomasville High School.

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Multiple agencies responded to Thomasville High School after getting a call about a shooting at the school Monday morning, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office. They discovered it was a swatting call. 

The call came in around 9:21 a.m. and originated in Thomasville. 

Officers immediately entered the campus searching for the reported gunman.

Multiple agencies responded quickly to the call, including Thomasville Police, State Bureau of Investigation, NC Highway Patrol, and Davidson County Sheriff's Office.  

The investigation determined the report to be a fraudulent 'swatting' call. 

Thomasville High School is closed for spring break this week.
