THOMASVILLE, N.C. — A couple is back home after being involved in a hit-and-run crash Sunday in Davidson County.
The couple has been in the hospital since then and was finally released Wednesday afternoon.
What happened to Frances Pait, 77, and her husband Hulon, 75, could’ve been much worse.
North Carolina Highway Patrol said a gray truck hit the couple in their 2013 Buick on Highway 109 in Thomasville.
After the crash, the truck drove off, leaving the scene.
The Buick drove off the road on the right, hitting several trees before coming to a stop.
Both Frances and her husband were taken to the hospital after having to be cut out of the car.
Their son, Stan Thompson, said his mother is resilient and he's glad she's OK.
"She's my world. She is absolutely a wonderful lady. I don't know. I don't know where in the world I would be without her. She's been a wonderful mom to me and my sister and she's a wonderful friend and relative to a lot of people. She has a wide group of people that love her very much," Thompson said.
North Carolina Highway Troopers are looking for the suspect involved.
Anyone with information related to the collision is encouraged to contact the North Carolina Highway Patrol at (336) 481-0025.
