CHARLOTTE, N.C. — As students return to the classroom for the new school year, many teachers already feel demoralized and exhausted.

Teaching has never been easy, but now, teachers face a growing number of trials and tribulations. Let's connect the dots.

Issues like student behavior, distractions in class, low pay and navigating the complex world of AI are taking a toll on educators. According to the Department of Education, just 42% of teachers believe their job is worth the stress. That's down 75% from just eight years ago.

In those reports, teachers cite a sudden rise in student behavior and mental health challenges as the root cause of their burnout. One teacher told the Wall Street Journal he feels less like a teacher and more like a babysitter.
